There’s nothing like a crisis to bring out the very worst in low-level politicians with big aspirations.
House Democratic Leader Phil GiaQuinta (D-Fort Wayne) sent out a press release Thursday stating he was pleased that Governor Eric Holcomb embraced ideas from House Democrats to support Hoosiers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“House Democrats were successful in their efforts to advocate for Hoosiers and get them the economic relief they will need over the coming months as we face the impacts of this virus,” the tone-deaf GiaQuinta said.
“We will keep fighting for the economic security, food security and health security of every Hoosier during this uncertain and difficult time.”
Katz Verdict: Awful
WIBC host Tony Katz:
“You want to take credit? Is that what it’s about right now? Is Rep. GiaQuinta so incredibly tone-deaf that he doesn’t realize that it’s about us – not him or his party?
“I’m talking about the people who have recognized where the real problem is. Our differences remain, but not on this. You want to take CREDIT?
“Is there anybody within the Democratic party in the state of Indiana who has a minor amount of common sense and can tell people to stop talking?
“What an absolutely ignorant statement to put forth by the Democrat party. But then again, I expect nothing less from them.”
