ELKHART, Ind. — Dozens of people, many of whom are elderly or disabled, are being evicted from The Renaissance at Historic Hotel Elkhart because the building is being redeveloped.

Most of these people don’t have the resources needed to find a new home. Things looked bleak until someone made an anonymous donation of $50,000 to the Salvation Army of Elkhart.

The money will help the displaced people find new homes.

Plans to overhaul the Hotel Elkhart were announced in 2017. Inside Indiana Business says the updated building will house office and retail spaces, a brewpub, and a boutique hotel.
