FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) – Students and staff at four Hamilton Southeastern Schools were asked to shelter in place for about a half-hour on Friday afternoon while police investigated a possible threat.

The threat was made by a student at Fall Creek Junior High School, according to Emily Pace Abbots, HSE’s Director of School and Community Relations.

Students and staff at Fall Creek Junior High, Hamilton Southeastern High School, Fall Creek Elementary and Fall Creek Intermediate were asked to shelter in place as Fishers Police investigated the threat. Students were dismissed after the all-clear was issued by FPD.

Here is the message sent to HSE parents and staff:

This afternoon, we received a report of a social media threat made by a student at Fall Creek Junior High School. We made it our first priority to issue a “shelter in place” at the surrounding schools as Fishers Police investigated. All students and staff remained safely indoors, and dismissal was delayed while police checked the perimeter of the buildings. We lifted the “shelter in place” after 30 minutes and began normal dismissal after FPD cleared the area.

We want to thank the students who immediately reported the threat. Likewise, we appreciate the quick actions of the officers to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
