Five People Hurt From House Explosion in Southern Indiana
JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. — At least five people were injured in a house explosion Wednesday night in Jeffersonville.
The Jeffersonville police and fire departments responded to a home located in the 900 block of Washington Way at around 11:40 p.m. The house was still engulfed in flames when they arrived. The Jeffersonville Fire Department eventually extinguished the fire.
Five people were found injured from the blast in the front yard of the home. Two people from the home had to be airlifted to a hospital. Three others were transported by ambulance. Their conditions are unknown at this time.
As of Thursday morning, crews were still at the scene cleaning up the debris.
The cause of the blast is still under investigation. Police are asking the public to avoid the area.
