Veteran journalist and hater of eyebrow grooming Sam Donaldson took exception to President Donald Trump’s attack on socialism during his State of the Union address.

President Trump took aim at the ideology on Tuesday night after addressing the turmoil in Venezuela, where socialism has people eating their family pets.

“Here in the United States, we are alarmed by the new calls to adopt socialism in our country. America was founded on liberty and independence and not government coercion, domination, and control. We are born free and we will stay free. Tonight, we will renew our resolve that America will never be a Socialist country,” Trump said.

The former ABC News anchor with worse hair than Trump disputed the notion that socialism means “big government telling you how to live, what to do [and] when to do it.”

In fairness, Sam is correct. Socialism also means starvation, hopelessness, and using your bare hand as a substitute for toilet paper.
