Not sure if you heard, but Indianapolis has a little problem with potholes. Actually, it’s more than a ‘little’ problem, it’s a national disaster. Actually, it’s less than a national disaster, it’s an annoying, rim-destroying nightmare that has daily commuters more than bit pissed.

Alas, “Pothole Joe” has finally offered an explanation as to why the majority of our roads are essentially the ‘Swiss cheese of asphalt thoroughfares’: the city has already filled 85,000 potholes.

See? Told ya you’d still be pissed.

Okay, so Hogsett’s explanation was a little more thorough than that. WIBC’s Abdul-Hakim Shabazz joined the Hammer and Nigel show Wednesday afternoon to break it down.

Shabazz:

“There actually is an established process to get these things done: they do the major streets and thoroughfares first such as Meridian, College, Kessler, Keystone, etc. After they do the main thoroughfares, then they get to the residential streets and it takes them a while to get to those. If you live on a cul de sac and have a neighborhood association, those potholes are not the city’s responsibility, it’s the responsibility of the neighborhood and homeowner association.”

There you go! Yeah… You’re still pissed, aren’t you?
