INDIANAPOLIS  — Two men are in custody for the downtown Indy shooting that injured two Clark County judges last week.

Alfredo Vazquez, 23, and Brandon Kaiser, 41, have been arrested for the shootings of Clark Co. Circuit Judges Drew Adams and Brad Jacobs, IMPD announced Tuesday.

The two judges were shot outside the White Castle restaurant on West South Street just before 3:30 a.m. on May 1.

Police said Vazquez and Kaiser tried to get into the locked White Castle building, which led to an exchange of words and a fight with Jacobs and Adams. During the fight, both judges were shot.

Jacobs and Adams are recovering at Indianapolis hospitals.

Kaiser and Vazquez are due in court Wednesday morning. Mugshots have not been made available.

Kaiser faces multiple charges, including attempted murder and battery. Vazquez is charged with assisting a criminal, a felony.
