INDIANAPOLIS — Five people were shot in Indianapolis overnight, one of them is dead.

Metro police say at around 9:20 a 22-year-old man was found fatally shot in a parking lot of a Family Dollar store on the east side of the city near East New York Street and North Denny Street. Witnesses said they heard several shots fired with one bullet hitting a nearby house.

At around the same time, police got a call about shots fired at the intersection of Roache and Rader Streets just a little over a mile south of Crown Hill Cemetery. Police say a neighborhood party and concert had been going on.

When they got there they found three people shot. More than 50 evidence markers were placed at the scene by 11:30 marking more than 40 shell casings had been found. Those three victims were taken to the hospital and another victim of that shooting showed up at the hospital later on on there own.

No arrests have been made in either shooting.
