Man Charged in Indy Shooting Death

INDIANAPOLIS — A man has been arrested after a shooting that killed a woman early Tuesday morning on Indianapolis’ near north side.
IMPD says 35-year-old Clarence White was taken into custody Wednesday. He’s facing preliminary charges of murder, aggravated assault, and unlawful gun possession by a serious violent felon.
The shooting happened around 4:30 a.m. at an apartment complex on North Pennsylvania Street. Officers found 39-year-old Kia Robinson with a gunshot wound—she later died.
A man at the scene was also shot and taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition. Others in the apartment weren’t hurt.
Detectives identified White as the suspect and arrested him Wednesday on East 82nd Street. Police say he had a gun when he was taken into custody.
The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will decide on formal charges. A booking photo hasn’t been released yet.
