NORTH VERNON, Ind. — Tooth be told, it’s never a good idea to steal someone’s dentures.
A woman in Jennings County went to the police on Monday morning to report that another woman, Joann Childers, stole her teeth and was wearing them around.
That same morning, deputies from the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department spoke with a probation officer, who had met with Childers. The officer confirmed that Childers had teeth during her probation meeting.
On Wednesday, police went to Childers’ house to discuss the theft. When they arrived, they saw the dentures in plain sight, and even noticed the owner’s name on them.
Childers was arrested and faces theft charges. The dentures were returned to the owner.
