INDIANAPOLIS — A man was arrested after shooting someone on the east side of Indianapolis last Thursday.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says 30-year-old Tyler Grippaldi is facing charges of aggravated battery and a misdemeanor of resisting law enforcement.

Officers arrived at a home, which is in the 400 block of South Oakland Avenue, before 11:00 that day. Court documents say officers found a man, who was shot, behind the home. He was taken to a hospital, and he was stable.

As officers were looking into this, they say Grippaldi ran off before they arrived at the scene.

IMPD says officers, who are normally on duty in the area, were aware of the communication between Grippaldi and the victim. Officers later identified the suspect as Grippaldi after looking at surveillance video.

Officers say they found Grippaldi in the 300 block of South Oxford Street last Friday. Police arrested him after chasing him.

Court documents say Grippaldi’s trial is set for June 16th in Marion County.

If you have any information about this case, IMPD urges you to give them a call at 317-327-3465.
