NEENAH, Wisc. — He walked hundreds of miles from Indiana to Wisconsin — all to have sex with an underage girl.

The US Attorney’s Office in Wisconsin says Tommy Lee Jenkins, an already convicted sex offender who had just moved from Oshkosh, Wisconsin to Whitestown, Indiana, had been speaking with what he thought was a 14-year-old girl named “Kylee” in Neenah, Wisconsin.

He began demanding for sexually explicit images from her. When the teenage girl refused, investigators say Jenkins began walking 351-miles from Whitestown to Neenah.

“Along the way, Jenkins continued to engage “Kylee” in sexually explicit conversations and updated her as to his current location,” said a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

When Jenkins got to Neenah, he discovered that “Kylee” was, in fact, an undercover Winnebago County sheriff’s deputy assigned to Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. He was arrested by sheriff’s deputies and the FBI.

He’s charged with using a computer to attempt to persuade, induce, or entice a minor to engage in unlawful sexual activity and faces a minimum of 10 years in prison.
