MUNCIE, Ind. — A Muncie woman pleaded guilty to trying to hire a hitman to kill her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend.

In January 2017, Tamara Olis offered a “hitman,” who was really an undercover sheriff’s deputy, $1,000 to kill Margie Wolford, said the Muncie Star Press.

The deputy said that Olis wanted him to cut the brake lines in a taxi that Wolford drove, so she would get in an accident.

A few weeks before Lionel Mackey, Wolford’s ex-boyfriend, had been arrested for trying to kill Wolford with a homemade bomb that was left outside her house.

Olis told investigators she wanted Wolford dead so she couldn’t testify against Mackey.

On Wednesday, Olis pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit aggravated battery, which carries up to 16 years in prison.

Wolford was at Wednesday’s hearing for Olis and told the Star Press that she was glad the entire saga was almost over.
