INDIANAPOLIS — The Wayne Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library will have a new look in 2020.

The Wayne Branch, located at 198 S. Girls School Road, will close on Dec. 1 for its first renovation since it opened in 1983.

“When the Wayne Branch reopens, Library users will see new spaces for youth programming, job skills counseling and community gatherings. Other features will include additional patron seating, upgraded lighting and mechanical systems, and new study rooms for individual or group use,” said Jon Barnes, Communications Specialist for the Indianapolis Public Library.

Library books and other items placed on hold for pick up will be sent to the Eagle Branch at 3905 Moller Road.

The project, which will cost $1.5 million, is funded from over $58 million in individual bonds approved by the Indianapolis City-County Council.
