LAWRENCE, Ind. — A boil water advisory remains in effect for Lawrence after a major water main break.

Lawrence is dealing with this at the Fort Harrison Water Treatment Plant. With that said, the city has switched water supply from the Indian Lake and Richardt Water Treatment Plants.

The boil advisory will stay in place until safety tests confirm the water is safe to drink, which won’t be until late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

People are urged to boil water for no less than five minutes before drinking it, cooking with it, or even brushing their teeth with it. The city of Lawrence is working with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) to look into this.
