INDIANAPOLIS–A suspect was shot by an IMPD officer Thursday afternoon on the west side, says IMPD.
IMPD Police Chief Chris Bailey says officers responded to a shots fired call in the 900 block of South Kiel Avenue. That’s in the Cloverleaf Apartment complex northeast of the 465 interchange for West Washing Street on the west side.
Bailey says three gunshots were fired in the parking lot of the apartment complex after a disturbance with family members. A handgun was found at the scene.
The suspect who was shot is expected to survive after suffering a graze wound to the neck. He was taken to a hospital for treatment. No officers were hurt. The suspect has not been identified
