FORT WAYNE, Ind. – You’ve heard about electric cars, but what about…electric boats?  One company plans to build an electric model at its facility in Fort Wayne.

Harris Boats recently announced that it will be building an all-electric pontoon boat, known as the Cruiser e-210, at its Fort Wayne facility.

President of Harris Boats Brian Athmer describes the model as “silent, efficient, and cost competitive,” but also “uncompromising in the features and luxury craftsmanship.”

The pontoon will be powered by a Mercury Avator 35e Outboard motor.  Essentially, this motor can provide up to 15 hours of run time via four batteries.

You will be able to check out the new model for yourself next year, as the company plans to showcase it at multiple boat shows.
