INDIANAPOLIS — A silent film shot in Indianapolis nearly 120 years ago has been added to the National Film Registry.

The three-minute movie, titled “Ringling Bros. Parade Film,” shows a group of Ringling Brothers Circus animals parading through downtown Indianapolis.

The film shows caged lions, camels, elephants, and horses making their way through the Circle City and passing landmarks like the Indiana Statehouse.

It’s one of 25 films added this year to the National Film Registry maintained by the Library of Congress. Other titles added in 2021 include “The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring,” “Selena,” and “Return of the Jedi”.
