BARGERSVILLE, Ind. — A woman is in the hospital after being pulled from a sinking car in Johnson County, according to the Bargersville Fire Department.
The fire department was called to a report of a vehicle in the water at State Road 144 and Whiteland Road just before 12 p.m. Monday, BFD said on Twitter.
Two men, identified as Brandon Brown and William “Billy” Clements, helped rescue the woman from her car before it drifted away and sank.
The woman was taken to St. Francis Hospital and was awake and alert.
The person who saved the woman left the scene before they could be identified, according to BFD Deputy Fire Chief Michael Pruitt.
