COLUMBUS, Ind. — A man was killed Monday afternoon after crashing into a house, according to the Columbus Police Department.

Officers were called to the 4400 block of Osprey Drive at around 12:30 p.m. on a report of an SUV into a home.

Police arrived and found the driver of the SUV unresponsive. The driver was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Investigators believe the driver of the SUV drove across a bean field behind the house and hit a backyard privacy fence before crashing into the home.

There were people inside the house at the time of the crash, but no one was hurt.

The name of the driver is being withheld until family members are notified.
