INDIANAPOLIS — August was a busy month for the real estate market in central Indiana.
According to real estate company F.C. Tucker, August home sales were up 3.5% compared to August 2020. Year-to-date home prices were up 13% and the number of available houses on the market decreased more than 15% compared to this time last year.
The average August 2021 home price in central Indiana was $285,886 and 4,484 homes in central Indiana were purchased.
Homes sold in just 19 days on average, nearly 50% faster than in 2020, according to F.C. Tucker.
“While we may continue to see a slight increase in available housing inventory, I expect the strong seller’s market to continue through the end of the year and into 2022,” said Jim Litten, CEO of F.C. Tucker Company.
