INDIANAPOLIS — Indy Metro Police are looking for the person who shot and killed a 17-year-old boy on Monday.

The shooting happened at around 4:15 p.m. on 29 N. Randolph Street, not far from E. Ohio Street.

Detectives say Ross Mitchell was playing ball with his younger brother when an unknown black man in a hoodie and dark pants walked from the alley and shot at him.

Mitchell was taken to Methodist Hospital, where he died.

The suspect was described as black with medium skin, standing about five feet, six inches tall, and weighing 160 pounds. He was last seen running west from the scene.
