GRANT COUNTY, Ind. — She’s back in the court room today.
Amanda Carmack of Gas City is accused of killing her ten-year-old stepdaughter Skylea Carmack back in 2019. Skylea was reported missing on August 31st of that year, and her body was found just days later. She had been strangled, wrapped in plastic trash bags, and stashed away in Amanda Carmack’s shed.
Carmack was arrested and charged with murder, domestic battery, neglect, and strangulation.
The original trial was set for last fall. However, an outbreak of COVID-19 among those involved in the case caused the trial to be postponed. Now, the time has come for Carmack to return to the courtroom.
Amanda Carmack’s trial continues at 9 Monday morning at the Grant County Courthouse.
