INDIANAPOLIS — The trillion-dollar infrastructure deal has the support of some mayors in Indiana.

The United States Conference of Mayors has sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, along with Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy, urging them to take action on the bipartisan deal.

Six mayors that signed the letter are from Indiana — Joe Hogsett of Indianapolis, Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry, John Hamilton of Bloomington, James Brainard of Carmel, Gary Mayor Jerome Prince, and Steve Collier of Lawrence.

The mayors say the infrastructure deal is crucial for better public transportation, roads and bridges, drinking water, clean energy, and universal broadband access.
