CARLISLE, Ind. — A 15-year-old was killed early Thursday morning in a shooting in Sullivan County.
Two opposing groups gathered at the intersection of Lewis and Ledgerwood in Carlisle at around midnight for an altercation, according to Indiana State Police.
One person pulled out a handgun and fired multiple shots toward the other group.
15-year-old Mezmariah L. Wilson, of Shelburn, was shot in the upper body. She was taken to Sullivan Community Hospital in Sullivan and airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital, where she died.
No arrests have been made and police are still looking into what happened.
