INDIANAPOLIS — Add public parks to the list of places you can’t light up in Indianapolis.
The City-County Council voted 18-6 on Monday evening to ban smoking in Indianapolis parks.
According to a press release, Proposal 135 extends non-smoking areas to “include public parks owned or leased by the city or county”.
The ban will come with a $100 ticket for a first offense.
The ban is expected to go into effect before the Fourth of July.
