INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis man has been convicted of attempted murder for shooting a woman with a rifle in June 2020.
Reginald Smith was convicted of attempted murder, aggravated battery, and possession of a firearm by a domestic batterer, Marion Co. Prosecutor Ryan Mears said Thursday.
On June 15, 2020, police were called to the intersection of Tallman and Roosevelt Avenues about a woman shot in the lower back.
A witness told police that Smith and the victim were arguing when Smith went up to the victim with a rifle and shot her at close range.
The victim’s lower extremities were paralyzed for about nine months after the shooting.
Smith will be sentenced April 21.
