INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health says 16,511 people got a free COVID-19 vaccine during the recent four-day clinic at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

As of Tuesday, 1,154,141 first doses of the coronavirus vaccine have been administered in Indiana and 724,587 Hoosiers are fully vaccinated.

Additional vaccination clinics are planned for March 12-13 at Ivy Tech Community College in Sellersburg and March 26-27 at the University of Notre Dame. Both vaccination sites are fully booked.

A clinic is also being planned in Gary for the weekend of March 20. Details about the Gary clinic will be announced later this week.

Hoosiers age 50 and older, along with healthcare workers, long-term care residents, and first responders are eligible to get the coronavirus vaccine. Visit ourshot.in.gov or call 211 to schedule an appointment.
