INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Colts punter Rigoberto Sanchez announced on social media Monday that he will have a cancerous tumor removed on Tuesday.
“So grateful to be surrounded by doctors that helped me catch the cancerous tumor before it spread all over my body,” Sanchez wrote on Instagram. “I will be getting surgery on Tuesday and I know that it will not be an easy bump on the road, but I know I have my amazing wife supporting me along with family and friends reaching out.”
Sanchez has 62 kickoffs in 11 games played this season for the Colts. He has collected 3,878 kickoff yards and 29 kickoff touchbacks. He’s punted 31 times for 1,464 yards, with a longest punt of 60 yards.
