INDIANAPOLIS — Little trees will be the stars of a big exhibit opening soon at the Indianapolis Zoo!
Beginning Sept. 8, visitors can enjoy more than two dozen bonsai trees in Bonsai, a limited-time exhibit in the Hilbert Conservatory at White River Gardens.
Bonsai are not a specific type of tree. Rather, the term refers to the practice of pruning a tree with precision to create a healthy, miniature version of a plant that appears natural yet highlights the careful interventions of its creator. With proper care and patient attention, bonsai trees can live decades and even centuries!
The miniature trees will be on display through Nov. 30, thanks to a partnership with the Indianapolis Bonsai Club.
