NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — A woman from Noblesville died early Friday morning after she crawled out the window of a truck while it was going down the highway.

Alyssa Elliott, 35, was in the backseat of her fiance’s Ford F-150 pickup truck when she rolled down the window and climbed or jumped out while the truck was headed northbound on State Road 37, according to Noblesville police.

Elliott was fatally injured and did not survive.

The driver of the pickup truck, Sean Schledt, told police he had just picked Elliott up at a bar. He said he didn’t know Elliott intended to go out the window and was unable to stop the truck in enough time to keep her from leaving.

Schledt was interviewed by police and is considered a witness in the incident.

The northbound lanes of State Road 37 from 141st Street to 146th Street were closed for investigation until approximately 5:30 a.m.
