INDIANAPOLIS — A man has been arrested after police believe he robbed a woman and then ran her over.

It happened back in August during the day at the Kroger at Bluff and West Southport roads.

The victim was a 72-year-old woman who was robbed in the parking lot. The suspect was arrested not long after police released a wanted poster with the suspect’s picture.

“I don’t understand because this parking lot is always real crowded,” said Kroger shopper Barbara Bean.

Police said the woman walked out of the store and into the parking lot when the suspect approached her, grabbed her purse off her shoulder and broke the strap.

The woman tried to chase after the man. He ran over her foot possibly breaking her ankle.

Cathy Hendrickson shops at the store frequently with her elderly mother and said this goes too far.

“I have to watch out for her. That’s my main concern. I take her everywhere, but I’m also watching her all the time, too,” said Hendrickson.

Hendrickson said Kroger needs to beef up security.

“These elderly people, it’s just a big concern. So it’s not a good thing, and we need to watch for them,” Hendrickson added.

“It is a concern because one thing is you can’t go around doing this to people,” said Hendrickson’s mother.

Since the incident happened in August, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has made an arrest. The suspect, Brock Lynn, was arrested last week. According to online records, Lynn faces two robbery charges.
