FISHERS, Ind. — The deaths of a husband and wife who were longtime Hamilton Southeastern schoolteachers have been ruled a homicide-suicide, authorities announced Friday.
The bodies of Kristal Sergi, 44, and Frank Sergi II, 52, were found Wednesday evening in their home on the 13000 block of Dorster Street near Olio Road and East 131st Street.
Frank’s death was ruled a suicide, and Kristal’s was ruled a homicide, according to autopsy results released Friday by the Fishers Police Department. Both Frank and Kristal died of gunshot wounds.
The two had filed for divorce in August.
Hamilton Hill Church had a vigil Thursday night at Hoosier Road Elementary for the teachers.
Police said in a news release Thursday afternoon, “Based on the evidence at the scene and the information obtained thus far, Detectives believe the two deceased are the only individuals directly involved in this incident.”
Fall Creek Intermediate and Hoosier Road Elementary did not have classes again Friday, but staff and students were told they could go to the schools for mental health support.
Police said the investigation was ongoing on Friday.
