INDIANAPOLIS — Indy Metro Police are looking for the man who tried threw a puppy in the trash just two days before Christmas.

According to IMPD, the man pulled up next to a dumpster at 10021 E. Washington Street at 10:38 a.m. on Dec. 23 and threw a bag out of his car window.

Inside the bag was a male pitbull puppy. The puppy appeared to be a few months old and had a broken leg and prolapsed rectum.

The dog, named Blitz, had its broken leg amputated and had surgery to repair his rectum, IMPD Sgt. Bill Carter told WISH-TV.

Blitz was adopted on Monday at Every Dog Counts Rescue, Carter said.

IMPD say the man who dumped Blitz was black, around 30 years old, and was wearing all-black clothing, a black beanie cap and a black gloves.

His car is described as a newer-model silver Ford Fusion.
