Every summer, Hoosiers (and thousands of out-of-towners) head to the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis for one of the biggest events of the season: the Indiana State Fair. 📅 When Is the Indiana State Fair?

The 2025 Indiana State Fair runs Friday, August 1 through Sunday, August 17, with the fair closed on Mondays. That gives you plenty of chances to explore—but weekends and concert nights tend to be busiest.

🎡 What Can You Do at the Fair?

  • Eat Your Way Through the Fair: Expect over-the-top deep-fried creations, creative new dishes, and Hoosier favorites like pork tenderloins and lemon shake-ups.
  • Catch a Concert: Free shows are held at the Hoosier Lottery Free Stage, with past performers including Clint Black, Joan Jett, and the Gin Blossoms.
  • Check Out the Animals: Cows, goats, horses, chickens—you’ll find them all in the barns.
  • Ride the Midway: From Ferris wheels to thrill rides, there’s fun for all ages.
  • Explore Indiana: Ag exhibits, small business booths, and Indiana-made products are on display throughout the grounds.
