Astronomer CEO Resigns After Viral Coldplay Concert Incident

Andy Byron, the CEO of the technology firm Astronomer Inc., has resigned after being caught holding his company’s HR chief, Kristin Cabot, in his arms at a Coldplay concert in Boston.
Byron is seen in the video clutching Cabot from behind as the pair smiles in the Gillette Stadium crowd. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin can be heard saying “Oh look at these two,” as they appear on the jumbotron, only for Cabot to quickly cover her face and turn away while Byron ducks to avoid the cameras.
Astronomer announced launched a formal investigation and said he had been placed on leave.
“Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted,” the company said in a statement. “The Board will begin a search for our next Chief Executive as Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy continues to serve as interim CEO.”
The company on Friday said Astronomer’s co-founder and chief product officer Pete DeJoy would serve as interim CEO.
Byron’s LinkedIn account is no longer public and he was removed from the company’s leadership page following the announcement, which now lists co-founder DeJoy as CEO..
