INDIANAPOLIS–A 19-year-old was arrested in Indianapolis this weekend for the murder of two people on the northwest side.

IMPD believes 19-year-old Anthony Bean shot two people inside a car on W. 38th Street on Saturday just before 4 am. Both victims were rushed to hospitals in critical conditions, but later died.

“That same morning, IMPD Homicide detectives arrived on scene and began their investigation. Detectives worked to gather information, canvasing the area for surveillance cameras and witnesses. The Indianapolis Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist in identifying and collecting potential forensic evidence,” said IMPD in a Monday news release.

The IMPD Violent Crimes Unit was able to locate Bean on Sunday and take him into custody on two counts of murder.

“Thank you to IMPD officers and detectives for their continued work to hold perpetrators of violence accountable,” said Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett on social media Monday afternoon.
