The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office on Tuesday dismissed the indictment against “Empire” actor and prolific liar Jussie Smollett, prompting all persons of logic with the most minute semblance of common sense to collectively ask the following: “Why the flying f***?!?”

Prosecutors dismissed Smollett’s case in exchange for his completion of several conditions — a prosecutorial move known as an ‘alternative to prosecution.’

Well… bully for Smollett.

According to an article in the Washington Post, the prosecution required the actor to complete 16 hours of community service through the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, a Chicago-based social justice organization, which he did last weekend. Smollett also agreed to forfeit the $10,000 bond he posted to avoid being held in jail.

WIBC’s Hammer and Nigel were moderately to semi-moderately perplexed by the prosecutors wimping out and essentially giving Smollett, the liar from “Empire” a pass. Also check out WIBC legal correspondent Abdul-Hakim Shabazz’s insight on the Smollett mess.
