CNN political analyst Carl Bernstein claims President Donald Trump and his supporters are on the verge of pushing the country towards a civil war.
Fun Fact: Carl has made these claims of impending doom on multiple occasions. File this one away with the rest in the “Carl’s Catastrophic Claims” keepsake box.
Bernstein appeared on Sunday’s “Reliable Sources” where he suggested that “this cold civil war predates Donald Trump. And Donald Trump understood that we are in a cold civil war in this country. And he has exploited it and brought this cold civil war almost to the point of ignition through his actions and his words, which are unprecedented in terms of presidential conduct.”
Thanks for the head’s up, Carl. Now where do we buy our survival seeds?
“No president in the history of the United States in 246 years has expressed the kinds of ideas and thoughts and undemocratic notions and authoritarian notions that he has.
Really, Carl? How about throwing an honorable mention to Presidents Woodrow Wilson (a democrat) and FDR (another democrat)?
Bernstein then turned to attacking President Trump’s supporters.
“We need to start connecting these dots,” said the man who built an entire career on getting ONE THING right. “What do people in the country think of this and why do they think and support him, no matter what he does, no matter how outrageous seemingly his conduct is?”
