The ban covers all forms of media
Governor Braun Signs Bill Banning Marijuana Advertising in Indiana

STATEWIDE– Indiana Governor Mike Braun has signed a sweeping ban on marijuana advertising, effective immediately. House Bill 1390 targets ads from neighboring states like Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio, where recreational marijuana is legal.
The ban covers all forms of media, including social media, physical advertising, web ads, geo-targeted promotions and billboards although existing ad contracts are grandfathered in until 2035 and will not be fined under this new law. This preemptive strike aims to shield Hoosiers from the growing marketing efforts of neighboring states that have the legal right to sell and advertise Marijuana.
Starting now, The Attorney General’s office will enforce the ban, with fines starting at $5,000 and along with daily oversight of the new law in its entirety.
