INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A 14-year-old boy was found shot Friday night on Monument Circle, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said.

IMPD says it happened around 8:30 p.m.

The 14-year-old was taken to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in good condition. He had been shot in the hand.

The shooting left an SUV with its windows shot out. Bullet fragments were found inside the vehicle.

Aggravated assault detectives were called to investigate two scenes, one on Monument Circle and another in the first block of South Meridian Street. The circumstances behind the shooting were not immediately available.

The shooting was the second Friday night in Indianapolis to injure a person. Just before 7:30 p.m., police found a male shot on the first block of Chester Avenue. That’s northeast of North Sherman Drive and East New York Street on the city’s east side. The male was stable when taken to a hospital.
