BROWNSBURG, Ind.–Some of the damage from Wednesday night’s storms in Brownsburg came from an EF-2 tornado, according to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.

“Our survey team has confirmed tornado damage in Brownsburg,” the agency said on social media Thursday afternoon. “The survey is ongoing with more details later today.”

A tornado tore apart a large portion of the Sur Le Table warehouse at 901 E. Northfield Drive in Brownsburg leaving a woman trapped. Local firefighters spent several hours getting the woman out of the rubble.

On Thursday afternoon the weather service also announced that they confirmed an EF-1 tornado in Carmel Wednesday night.

This storm system across the U.S. triggered more than 700 severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings combined. That’s the highest single-day count since the April 2011 tornado outbreak. Wednesday was the third most active severe weather day in nearly four decades.
