Woman Killed in Crossfire at a Cafe in Anderson

ANDERSON, Ind. — Police say 26-year-old Dayla Swain was shot and killed in the cafe in the morning of February 2nd.

Court documents say 18-year-old Rashawn Darrius Samuels was arrested for shooting at Sonny Ray’s Cafe, which is located in the 1500 block of South Madison Avenue in Anderson, in February. Samuels is facing charges of murder and reckless homicide.

“Samuels has been identified as one of our primary suspects in this case, and he also had multiple felony warrants for his arrest,” Major Caleb McKnight with the Anderson Police Department says.

Police say they think more than one suspect might have been involved in this case.

“The investigation remains ongoing. Other persons of interest are being actively pursued by detectives,” McKnight says.
