After nine days of silence from the White House Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre is back and quickly reminding everyone she may not be the person for the job.
During Thursday’s White House press briefing there became a moment where the Press Secretary lost control of the room.
Angolan TV anchor Hariana Veras became tired of being ignored and decided to continually interrupt Jean-Pierre in order to get her question in. Jean-Pierre attempted to move on asking for the next journalist to present his question, but Veras kept speaking over her. She did tell Veras that she was being disrespectful to not just her, but her colleagues.
Tony Katz says this is just one example of how Jean-Pierre is failing in her new role as Press Secretary.
“Karine Jean-Pierre is bad at this. She makes Jen Psaki look great. And while I found Jen Psaki to be very condescending, she did at least answer questions and did at least engage in a way that made the press core feel their questions and concerns were noted. Karine Jean-Pierre has no roll about her whatsoever. She doesn’t roll with the punches, she isn’t able to think on the fly.”
