INDIANAPOLIS — A man has been arrested and charged for the homicide of his wife.

Indianapolis Metro Police announced Thursday that 30-year-old Marcelus Teasley is believed to be involved in the murder of 35-year-old La’Shelle Teasley back on August 24th on North Tuxedo Street. La’Shelle was lying in the middle of the street with a gunshot wound.

IMPD says Marcelus was still there at the scene as detectives were collecting evidence. He was identified as the suspect, and refused to come outside, leading to IMPD’s SWAT unit being called in to help with negotiations. Marcelus did eventually give up without any trouble.

As of now, police believe the Teasley’s got into some sort of argument over a gun, before the trigger was pulled.

If you know anything about this shooting, you can call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477 or (TIPS) to remain anonymous. You can also download the P3tips app to submit tips.

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will make the final charging decision against Marcelus Teasley.
