CLINTON COUNTY, Ohio--The man who tried to break into the FBI field office in Cincinnati is dead, after shooting it out with Ohio state troopers. The FBI indicated that an agent may have also been involved in the shooting.

Ricky Shiffer, 42, died after a chase that ended about 60 miles north of Cincinnati in Clinton County, Ohio. That’s where Shiffer stopped his Crown Victoria and shot at troopers, who shot back, killing him. No state troopers were hurt.

The FBI says Shiffer tried to breach their visitor screening center at the building in Sycamore Township. He left when the alrm went off. His car was spotted later and that’s when trooper began chasing him. He finally stopped the car and decided to make a stand, unsuccessfully.

Fox News reported the man posted threats on his now-deleted Truth Social account, in retribution for the raid on former Pres. Trump’s Florida estate.

“The FBI is now reviewing this agent-involved shooting. The FBI takes all shooting incidents involving our agents or task force members seriously. In accordance with FBI policy, the shooting incident is under investigation by the FBI’s Inspection Division,” said the FBI, in a prepared statement.

“The review process is thorough and objective, and is conducted as expeditiously as possible under the circumstances.”
