INDIANAPOLIS — A woman was shot at the Marion County Juvenile Detention Center Tuesday evening.

It happened just after 5 p.m. Tuesday. Indianapolis Metro Police officers were called about a person shot.

When officers arrived they found a woman, an employee at the detention center, with gunshot wounds.  EMTs arrived and took the woman to the hospital. She was awake and in good condition, they say.

After further investigation, police found out the woman was inside of the complex and was hit by projectile and glass, where she received an injury consistent with a gunshot wound.

Police aren’t saying exactly where the gunshots came from yet.
