INDIANAPOLIS–A woman was shot while driving on I-70 Thursday afternoon on the east side of Indianapolis. Indiana State Police have made no arrests and have no description of a suspect.
The 21-year-old woman from Grant County was in the westbound lane when she was shot, she believed, from another vehicle. The shooting happened between I-465 and Post Rd., just before 2:30.
When the woman was shot, she drove to the inner shoulder, where her car was hit by another vehicle.
The woman was taken to the hospital, with no report on her condition. A man who was in the car with her is okay. He was not shot.
“Anyone traveling in the area of I-70 between I-465 and Post Road around 2:25 p.m. who may have witnessed this incident is asked to contact the Indiana State Police at (317) 899-8577 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317) 262-TIPS (8477),” read a news release from state police.
