WASHINGTON — President Biden delivers the State of the Union address tonight.

The crisis in Ukraine will get top billing as Russian forces continue their invasion. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told reporters that the President will keep trying to rally the world against Russia and in support of the sovereign country of Ukraine.

Biden is confronting weak public approval ratings and will attempt to reset his presidency during the primetime address.

While the COVID pandemic is on the decline, inflation is on the rise.  Psaki said Biden will highlight the strong economic recovery and efforts to knock down rising prices.  He will also tout his top legislative victory, the trillion-dollar infrastructure bill he signed late last year.

The President will promote his nomination of federal Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court.  If confirmed by the Senate, Jackson will be the first Black woman to ever serve on the high court.  She would replace retiring liberal Justice Stephen Breyer.

Biden also has an eye on the calendar. This is an election year and voters will decide who controls Congress in November.
