STATE WIDE–If you want to get a rapid COVID test at one of the state-run testing sites you must now be 18 and under and symptomatic, or 50 and older. Those changes were announced Tuesday, due to the shortage of rapid tests that has caused problems around the country.

That applies to tests and both state and local health department sites. Everyone else must get a PCR test, which takes longer to get results.

The state uses about 50,000 tests per week and right now is only guaranteed about 11,000 tests per week, meaning that according to the current usage estimates they are at a deficit.

The hours of the vaccination clinic at Indianapolis Motor Speedway are also being extended. The clinic will be open from noon-8 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturdays through Jan. 22.
